Install the latest Compiz Fusion from repository, create /etc/apt/sources.list.d/compizfusion.list with the following info :
deb http://download.tuxfamily.org/3v1deb feisty eyecandy
deb-src http://download.tuxfamily.org/3v1deb feisty eyecandy
Then install compiz etc. from synaptics
Exit WM, and login with XGL session
then execute compiz --replace
