How to Shutdown Windows 8 in One Click

Normally you do not need to shutdown your Windows 8 every time you finish working with your computer. You simply press the power button to make your computer sleep or hybernate. Sleep or hybernate is faster than shutdown. However, just in case you want to shutdown your computer, you can do it in one click :

Create a shortcut in d:\

Type the location of the item : “ C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe -s -t 0 “ like this :

Next, and name the shortcut “shutdown”

The icon for the shutdown shortcut is not clear, but you can change it. Just right click on the shortcut, then select “properties” then “change icon”, and you can pick the one that you like (usually the red button on the bottom right) :

Your shortcut icon will be changed to this : image

Then you could right click to this icon and select “pin to taskbar” . Now if you want to shutdown your PC, just click on the shortcut ( image   ) on the taskbar !
